Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) is situated in Adilabad, Telangana. This college was founded by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in 2008. The RIMS Medical College & Hospital , the dream institute of our former Hon’ble Chief Minister –Dr. Y.S. Raja Shekar Reddy. This Medical Institute started functioning from 24th August 2008.The first batch of Under Graduates admitted in August 2008. RIMS Adilabad was established in 53.5 acres of land side by NH–7 in the year of 2008, work was started on 1-2-2008. The principal objective of establishment of this institute is to improve quality of health care in this backward region and make medical education accessible to all the eligible students of the region.

- The higher authorities of the RIMS check and mark the candidates by the following details like Marks obtained in MD/MS/DNB PG Degree – (70%), Post MD/ MS/ DNB experience (Five marks per year experience, maximum 20) – 20 %, and Publications in indexed journals- 10% total of 100.
