NEHU Eligibility Criteria
For B.Tech Programme
NEHU offers different courses in B.Tech- Electronics Communication Engineering, Energy Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Information Technology. The Eligibility criteria for B.Tech programmes are:
- The applicants must have passed their 12th standard with science stream from any recognized board with an aggregate of 45% in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational Subjects.
- The candidate must have a positive score in JEE Main.
For the candidates who have taken late admission in the 2nd/ 3rd year semester in B.Tech Courses:
B. Tech Electronic Communication Engineering-The applicant must have pursued a diploma in the course of engineering from the following branches:
- ECE
- Medical Engineering
- Instrumentation
- Electrical
- CSE
- Information Technology
One, who wishes to take late admission in the courses of B.Tech Electronic Communication Engineering must have secured a minimum of 60% in 10th as well as in the 12th standard.
- B. Tech Energy Engineering-The candidates, who aspire to take late admission in the course of Energy Engineering must have done a 3-year diploma in any relevant branch of the Energy Engineering with a minimum of 60% in 10th standard as well as 12th standard.
- B. Tech Biomedical Engineering-In order to take late admission in the course of Biomedical Engineering, the candidate must have pursued a 3-year diploma from any appropriate branch related to Biomedical Engineering with a minimum of 60% from a recognized institute in 10th standard as well as 12th standard.
- B. Tech Information Technology-For taking late admission in the course of IT must have done a 3-year diploma in the relevant branch of IT from a recognized institute with a minimum of 60% in 10th as well as in 12th standard or from any recognized university.
- B.A.LL.B (Hons.)- The applicant must have passed his/ her Higher Secondary Examination with an aggregate of 50% from a recognized board. It is to be noted that if the applicant has registered himself/ herself for the course of B.A.LL.B (Hons.), then he/ she will not be allowed to chose any other course.
- Bachelors of Architecture (B.Arch)-One, who wish to get admission in the course of Bachelors in Architecture must have secured a minimum of 50% in the 10th as well as 12th standard.
- MBA (Agribusiness & Food Technology)- One, who wishes to take admission in MBA must have got 55% aggregate marks (for general category)and 50% (for SC/ST) in B.Sc. or in any graduate in agriculture science, animal husbandry, technology then only they will be considered for admissions. Eligible candidates also have to appear in any of the MAT tests in May, September, December 2019 and February 2023. and eligible candidates have to fill the application forms enclosing their MAT scores.
- Masters of Computer Applications (MCA)- To get admissions in MCA the eligibility criteria for the candidates that they must have passed their Bachelors degree by getting minimum 50% aggregate marks (for general category) and 45% aggregate marks (for SC/ST) from any recognized university or institute and also passed in the mathematics exam in the 12th class or graduation level.
- Masters of Tourism and Travel Management-Candidate, who wants to take admission in the course of Masters of Tourism and Travel Management (MTTM) must have done his/ her 3 yrs bachelors degree course after 12th class with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (for general category) and 45% aggregate marks (for SC/ST) will be considered for the admissions and one who has appeared for their final year exams and they are expecting their results by the end of July 2023, they can also apply. The candidate must have a positive score in MAT.
- M.Tech in Information Technology-Candidate wishing to get admission in the course of M.Tech in IT must have done B.E./B.tech. in EE/ECE or M.Sc. in electronics and have got a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. One, who have qualified GATE will be given preference.
- M.Tech in Electronic Communication Engineering-Applicant willing to take admission in the course of M.Tech in Electronic Communication Engineering must have qualified B.E/ B.Tech in ECE/EE or M.Sc. in electronics and secured a minimum of 60%.
- Master of Science in Horticulture {M.Sc. (Hort.)}-In order to get admission in the course of M.Sc. (Hort.) must have passed B.Sc. (Hort.) / B.Sc.(Agri) with a minimum of 55%.
Counseling Process
- The admission of suitable candidates to the UG programs in Cotton University is based on merit followed by the conduct of counseling programs.
- After the publication of the provisional merit list for all the courses, University will commence the counseling process.
- Candidates securing ranks in the merit have to register for the counseling which is going to be conducted in the online mode most probably.
- The counseling notification including the counseling schedule will be released in due course.
- On the basis of counseling, merit, and availability of seats, candidates will be allotted seats in their preferred courses in the university.

- Click on the admission selection Link that you want to open.
- Download the Rank List pdf file.
- Check whether candidates are selected or not.
- If the candidate’s name appeared on the merit list, enroll for University.
