How to Calculate Marks for the BAR Exam?
The calculation of marks varies according to which category the post the candidate has applied for falls under. The marking scheme for the BARC Stipendiary Trainee posts is as follows: –
- Each correct answer is awarded 3 marks.
- Each incorrect answer gets a 1 mark deduction.
Category I
The details of the marking scheme for written examination for posts under Category I are:
- Candidates have to answer 40 questions.
- Questions are based on the candidate’s B.SC or Diploma course.
- Each question is a multiple choice question, or MCQ.
Category II
The marking scheme for posts under Category varies according to the different stages of the selection process.
Preliminary Test:
- Candidates have to answer 50 questions.
- All questions are MCQs.
- The questions are divided into three different sections.
- They are Mathematics, Science and General Awareness.
- Candidates under the General category who score less than 40% are screened out.
- Candidates under reserved category who score less than 30% are screened out.
Advanced Test:
- Candidates have to answer 50 questions.
- All questions are MCQs.
- Questions are based on the candidate’s respective trade.
- Candidates under the General category who score less than 30% are screened out.
- Candidates under reserved category who score less than 20% are screened out.
In order to calculate the marks, candidates can follow the steps below:
- Give all the correct answers 3 marks each.
- Add the sum of all the correct answers.
- Give all the incorrect answers a negative marking of 1 mark each.
- Add the sum of all the incorrect answers.
- Subtract the sum of incorrect answers from the sum of correct answers to get the tentative score.
Objection Form
- If there is any candidates who is not satisfied with the Answers provided in the Answer Key by the official department
- Candidates can fill the objection form to raise his/ her query against the Wrong Answers provided in the Answer key.
- The Time allocated to fill the objection form was of 7 Days from the Date of release of the Answer key on the official department
- Candidates must have to attach the Proof/ Source for the Given Wrong Answers in the Answer Key.
The candidates are advised to clearly mention the objection along with the following details:
- Name of the candidate
- Roll number of the candidate
- Advertisement number
- Category number
- Name of the post
- Date of the examination
- Shift of the exam (morning, noon and evening)
