Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the WRD Assam Recruitment vacancy, the candidates should have some required qualifications and age limits. Actually, WRD Assam used to recruit young candidates for initial level operations. Let discuss the further details below.

Educational Qualifications

• B.E or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering obtained from any institute approved by the AICTE and recognized by the Government.
• The Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering must be a Regular Full Time Course. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering obtained through Distance Mode of Education, by whatever name called, will not be accepted.
• Apart from English, the candidate should have adequate knowledge of at least 1(one) official language of the State of Assam (i,e. Assamese/Bengali/Bodo) except candidates belonging to Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and Dima Hasao Autonomous Council.
• Essential Criteria: The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam. For proof of permanent residence, the candidate or his/her parents must be voters of Assam

Age Limit

• Applicants should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 38 years of age.

Selection Process

• On the Basis of Merit As per Academic Performance
• Methodology of Recruitment – the following is a procedure that will be followed by the officials to finally select the candidates for Assistant Engineer Post.
  • HSLC or equivalent-10%
  • HSSLC or equivalent – 20%
  • Degree in Civil Engineering -70%
  • Note – In case of the candidates who have completed the degree in Civil Engineering through lateral entry after completing Diploma in Civil Engineering, their 20% weightage shall be calculated on the basis of marks/percentage obtained in Diploma and not on the basis of marks obtained in HSSLC or equivalent, irrespective of whether they have passed HSSLC or equivalent examination or not.

Salary

• The selected candidates will be getting a salary of Rs. 30000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- PM (PB-4) with Grade Pay of Rs.12,700/ PM Plus other allowances as per rules of the Govt.
