BARC Stipendiary Trainee Selection Process and Exam Pattern 2021
The BARC Stipendiary Trainee selection process depends on which post the candidate has applied for. The different posts fall under two different categories. These are Category I and Category II. The selection process for each category is as follows:
Category I
- Written Examination
- Interview
Category II
- Preliminary test
- Advanced test
- Skill test
Category I Exam Pattern
- The examination is conducted for 1 hour.
- Candidates will have to answer 40 questions based on subjects in the candidate’s diploma or bachelor courses.
- Each correct answer is awarded 3 marks.
- Each incorrect answer gets a 1 mark deduction.
- The questions are all objective-type MCQs.
- Candidates must qualify the written examination to be eligible for the interview.
Category II Exam Pattern
Preliminary Test
- The examination is conducted for 1 hour.
- Candidates have to answer 50 questions.
- Each question is a multiple choice question (MCQ) with four different options.
- Each correct answer is awarded 3 marks.
- Each incorrect answer gets a 1 mark deduction.
- There are three different sections in this exam:

Advanced Test
Candidates who qualify the written examination are eligible for the advanced test. The important details of the stage are:
- Candidates have 2 hours to complete the exam.

- Every incorrect answer gets a negative marking of 1 mark.
Skill Test
This is the final stage of the Category II selection process. Candidates who have qualified through the Advanced Test are eligible for the Skill test. This test is based on a Go/No-Go basis. The number of candidates shortlisted for this stage will not exceed over 4-5 candidates for each vacancy available.
