Educational Qualifications

Professor	For Speciality subjects: A medical qualification included in the I or II schedule or part II of the third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (Persons possessing qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the condition specified in section 13(3) of the Act). A recognized postgraduate qualification e.g., MD/ MS, or a recognized qualification equivalent. For Super-speciality subjects: A medical qualification included in the I or II schedule or part II of the third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (Persons possessing qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the condition specified in section 13(3) of the Act). AND/ A recognized postgraduate qualification e.g., MD/ MS or a recognized qualification equivalent And/ Or M.Ch. for Surgical super – specialties and D.M. for Medical super specialties (2 years or 3 years or 5/ 6 years recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto. Experience: 14 years of experience after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D./ M.S (OR) 12 years of experience after obtaining the qualifying degree M.Ch./ D.M. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) (OR) 11 years of experience after obtaining the qualifying degree M.Ch./ D.M. (3 years or 6 years course recognized after MBBS). Essential for Non-Medical Candidates: (Limited to Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology only) Recognized Postgraduate qualification e.g. Masters’s degree in the concerned discipline. A doctorate degree in the respective discipline/ subject of a recognized university. Experience: 14 years of teaching and/ or research experience
Additional Professor	Educational qualifications for Medical candidates: For Speciality subjects-1 & 2 same as for Professor (Medical) For Super-speciality subjects- 1,2 & 3 same as for Professor (Medical). Experience: 10 years of experience after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D./ M.S (OR) 8 years of experience after obtaining the qualifying degree M.Ch./ D.M. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) (OR) 7 years of experience after obtaining the qualifying degree M.Ch./ D.M. (3 years or 6 years course recognized after MBBS). Educational qualifications for Non-Medical Candidates: 1 & 2 are the same as for Professor (Non–Medical). Experience: 10 years of teaching and/ or research experience
Associate Professor	Educational qualifications for Medical candidates: For Speciality subjects-1 & 2 same as for Professor (Medical) For Super-speciality subjects- 1,2 & 3 same as for Professor (Medical) Experience: 6 years of experience after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D./ M.S (OR) 4 years of experience after obtaining the qualifying degree M.Ch./ D.M. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) (OR) 3 years of experience after obtaining the qualifying degree M.Ch./ D.M. (3 years or 6 years course recognized after MBBS) Educational qualifications for Non-Medical Candidates: 1 & 2 are the same as for Professor (Non–Medical). Experience: 6 years of teaching and/ or research experience
Assistant Professor	Educational qualifications for Medical candidates: For Speciality subjects-1 & 2 same as for Professor (Medical) For Super-speciality subjects- 1,2 & 3 same as for Professor (Medical). Experience: 3 years of experience after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D./ M.S (OR) 1 year of experience after obtaining the qualifying degree M.Ch./ D.M. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) However, no experience is necessary for the candidates possessing the 3 years recognized degree of D.M./ M.Ch or 6 years recognized course after MBBS or qualification recognized equivalent thereto. Educational qualifications for Non-Medical Candidates: 1 & 2 are the same as for Professor (Non–Medical). Experience: 3 years of teaching and/ or research experience
