Odisha TET Notification 2022 | Exam Date | Eligibility | Application Form – The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha has managed the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) to appoint candidates as teachers in government schools across the state of Odisha. Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Odisha TET Recruitment vacancy, the candidates should have some required qualifications and age limits. Actually, Odisha TET used to recruit young candidates for initial level operations. Let discuss the further details below.

Educational Qualifications

For Category-A (Paper-1)

• Candidates should be having Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (CT or D.El.Ed.)
• Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education by the NCTE Regulations
• Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
• Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
• Graduation and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), on the condition that who has acquired the qualification of Bachelor of Education from any NCTE Recognised Institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V. Provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment as a primary teacher.

For Category-B (Paper-2)

• Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)
• Graduation with at least 45% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) by the NCTE Regulation
• Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) 
• Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./ B.Sc, Ed or B.A. Ed./ B.Sc. Ed
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Application Fee

Candidates who will be applying for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test 2022 should pay the following application fee mandatorily.

• For General/ OBC/ SEBC – Rs.500/-
• For SC/ ST – Rs.300/-

Selection Process

• The candidate must acquire a minimum of 60% of marks (for General students) and 50% (for SC/ST/SEBC students) to qualify for the examinations.
• Once the candidate is qualified, they will be awarded the OTET Certificates. These certificates will not appoint them directly as teachers but serve as eligibility for further recruitments.
• The validity for this certificate is lifetime and is applicable and relevant to schools situated in the state of Odisha alone.

OTET 2022 Exam Pattern

The OTET exam consists of two papers- Paper-I and Paper-II. Each paper carries 150 marks with a duration of 2.5 hours each. The mode of exam for both papers is offline (pen and paper-based). Details regarding the number of questions and marking scheme in the OTET exam pattern are provided below.

OTET Paper-I Exam Pattern for Primary Level

• Paper-I consists of 150 objective multiple-choice questions.
• Each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking for any sections of the paper.
• No optional sections are allowed and hence it is compulsory for the students to attend all the sections.

OTET Paper-II Exam Pattern for Secondary Level

• The paper-II pattern is almost similar to that of Paper-I, consisting of 150 multiple choice questions for a duration of 150 minutes.
• Each question carries 1 mark and there is no negative marking.
• In paper-II candidates have the choice to attempt either ‘Mathematics and Science’ or ‘Social Science’.
