About B.L.D.E University
- BLDE (Bijapur Liberal District Education Association) was founded in 1910.
- It is a century old association involved in the propagation of education in the Bijapur district and Bagalkot district which are recognized as socially, economically and educationally back word areas by the British Govt. and present University Grant Commission.
- In the year 1942, a visionary religious leader Shri Shri Sanganabasaveshwar Maha & Shivayogigalu of Banthanal laid a firm foundation to BLDEA with the establishment of institutes of collegiate education.
- He developed the association and founded many institutions to impart Primary, Higher Secondary and University education. In the 60s another great visionary, Shri B.M.Patil gave a new dimension to the institute by establishing Engineering College, Law College, Pharmacy College, Nursing College and the Medical College.
- A new era began when Mr. M.B. Patil, a young and dynamic leader, took reins of the BLDE Association.
- His primary objective was quality education. With recent concepts of liberalization and globalization, he conceived the need for the establishment of University.
- His dream came true with the establishment of BLDE University on 29-02-2008. The Medical College and Hospital are located adjacent to each other on a campus spread over 45 acres, in the heart of the city.
- The campus has its own beautiful landscaped gardens and houses black stone buildings of old world charm which are well ventilated and illuminated.
- The college departments, the central library and residential areas are distributed in different blocks in the campus.
- The college has 23 departments with state of the art facilities for teaching both UG and PG candidates.
- In addition, the college has separate departments of Yoga Science, Kannada and Culture which is one of the first in the state.
