About GBPUAT University
Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUA&T, Pantnagar University or Pantvarsity) is the first agricultural university of India. It was inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru on 17 November 1960 as the “Uttar Pradesh Agricultural University” (UPAU). Pantnagar is a non-affiliating university and its academic activities are organized through its nine constituent colleges (faculties), which run large undergraduate (UG) programs. All Masters and Ph.D. students are part of the College of Post Graduate Studies. The College of Post Graduate Studies offers 120 post-graduate programmes through 62 departments of constituent colleges of the university.
